My computer is fine. I didn't have any problems with other programs. Maybe VLC is better now, but I'm not going to try it again. Last time I tried it because it was required for some other stuff I was looking into (I think it was a Youtube player or somesuch). Mpc-hc is not perfect, but is sufficient for my needs. My only problem with it: One thing I never found in any players is the ability to upmix and downmix audio without to much fuss. MPC's audio decoder does have a 'mix' option, but it seems to only be able to downmix. The audio switcher filter (which I think is based on AC3Filter) can also upmix, but it doesn't normalize when two input channels are assigned to the same output channel, which causes a lot of clipping when loud sounds are playing. The only way I found to do proper mixing is with the AC3Filter, but I'm always too lazy to look it up and install it (the installer also contains adware lately).
